Ponderful is a Horizon 2020 project funded by the European Union under the call "SOCIETAL CHALLENGES - Climate action, Environment, Resource Efficiency and Raw Materials". The project aims to identify the role of ponds and pond networks in climate change adaptation and mitigation, conservation of biodiversity and provision of ecosystem services, and to develop methods to improve ecosystems. With the project, we are investigating the effectiveness of ponds and pond networks as Nature Based Solutions (NBS) in combating and adapting to climate change, conserving biodiversity and providing ecosystem services. At the 2nd Ponderful Workshop, preliminary results of the studies were presented by METU Limnology team.
